Here, Whitehouse Real Estate will talk about some of the best dog walking Northern Beaches has to offer, as well as some other activities popular in these spots.
Dog Beach Northern Beaches: Clontarf Beach
Although this beach is dog friendly, you will have to keep your dog on a leash. One of the positives of this beach is that it has a new playground for children, café, restaurant, easy access to showers and toilets, all of which are close to the beach itself. There is also a range of fantastic BBQ and picnic facilities that are open to the public throughout the day.
Dog Friendly Beaches Northern NSW: Sandy Bay
Only a few minutes’ walk north of Clontarf Beach, you will find the secluded and sheltered stretch of beach known as Sandy Bay. This is a 100% dog friendly area, where you are allowed to have your pooch off the leash for them to run around freely. Furthermore, the water is quite shallow, which means your dog can splash around in the saltwater without the risk of them being caught in rips or undertows.
Dog Walking Northern Beaches: Manly Lagoon
Manly Lagoon is a 24 Hour dog friendly beach in Queenscliff, just north of Manly Wharf. It lies between the suburbs of Manly and Queenscliff and is ideal for taking a long walk or cooling off on a hot day. With grass, sand and water, this is a popular area for those with dogs. North Harbour Reserve
Nestled between Balgowlah and Balgowlah Heights, North Harbour Reserve is a 24/7 off-lead play area popular with dogs and owners alike. There is a café and public toilets on the south side of the park and poo bags and bins are available. Access the park off Condamine Street (if you’re driving) or on a stunning walk from Manly Wharf following the Fairlight and North Harbour Walks. This picturesque 30-minute walk has some stairs and hills, so a moderate level of fitness is required and, as the signs say, watch out for penguins! Your dog must be kept on-lead until you reach the North Harbour Reserve but, when you arrive, it’s game on!
